“Lightfoot can’t wait to get behind the wheel of his XR8 ute again, South Island here we come” is the attitude that Mike ‘Buzz’ Lightfoot is taking towards the final two rounds of the Enzed NZ V8 Ute series, starting at Ruapuna raceway near Christchurch this weekend.
Lightfoot stunned many with a magnificent performance at the Hampton Downs round of the series, only his second meeting ever in a V8 ute and his first in over a year. Despite this he took the final step on the podium for the meeting. Repeating the feat at Ruapuna will be slightly harder. “Hampton Downs was a new track for everyone, but now that we are heading back to a track most of the others have run on before. I’m still going to be giving it my best to run at the front of the field but we will have to see how it all goes.” “Ruapuna should be a great fun track in the ute, it has a great mixture of corners and it will keep us on our toes throughout the whole weekend,” says Lightfoot. Although Lightfoot missed the first two rounds of the series, he still aiming at a top ten finish for the season and the form he showed at Hampton Downs, he stands a very real chance of achieving this. The IPV run ute is ready to rock. Lightfoot would like to thank his sponsors who have made his campaign in the 2009/2010 Enzed NZ V8 Ute Series possible: Radio Hauraki, Volvo Penta, Elf Lubricants, Jayco South Auckland Caravans, DHL Global forwarding and Fleetline Spraypainters. ![]() ADD YOUR NEWS ITEM BY LOGGING ON BELOW
