Whats new on OnlineMotorsport!!

OnlineMotorsport in its revamped format, has been up and running for just over 8 months, but now it is time to add some new functionality!

Motorsport is an action sport, and there is no better way to show this than having the action captured by camera. Two new sections have been added to the website, a Video and Photo Gallery.

These section names speak for themselves, and they are the opportunity for the drivers that put on the action, and photographers that capture it, to visually share the action with the rest of the Motorsport community.

Photo Gallery: The Photo section is the chance for the many Motorsport photographers (amateur and pro) to showcase the wicked action they capture at the circuit or on a special stage.



For those of you who are interested in selling your photos, its a chance to show a selection of your best photos. After each event you can use the Photo Gallery to show 4, 5 (or as many as you like) of your best shots, and encourage viewers to go to your website where you have all your good photos.

The Description and Credit fields are free type, so you can specify your website URL, or an email address or a contact phone number, to allow viewers the opportunity to find your website, or so they can get in contact with you to purchase your great photos.

Videos: The Video section is very similar to the Photo Gallery. Users can upload, view and share the Motorsport action that is captured



Users can upload videos to remind us of classic Motorsport from era's gone by, or to highlight exceptional driving from talented drivers, or show the high speed spills and crashes when things go wrong, or maybe just share the darn right funny... footage that we can all laugh at.

It's simple to upload a Photo or Video.

1. Fill in the basic info about the photo or video in the Title and Description fields,
2. Add your contact details in the Credit field,
3. Click a button to browse to the photo or video on your computer,
4.Select it, then hit the Upload button. All done... your photo or video is added for all to see.

The incentives for uploading photos and video are many, but overall it gives the rest of the Motorsport community the opportunity to see what action may have happened.

Note: You have to be a logged in User to view video clips

Other new Functionality

We have taken the opportunity to fix a number of bugs, as well as add a few little extra's.

New Page Video Teaser: Next time you view the News page, you will see a Teaser video playing at the top right.  This Teaser will change every time a new video is added, and the last video added will always be the one displayed.

Video Teaser on the Forum: Next time you view the Forum page, you will see a Teaser video playing at the bottom right.

Display of News Articles: The number of articles displayed on the News page has increased from 8 to 12 items per page,

Next 3 events for each Event category: On the Events page, the next three events for each category (eg, Racing, Rallying) are now listed on the right had side panel.

More Advertising: The left hand side advertising slots have increased to 5, plus a new banner has been put at the bottom of the Video, Gallery and Forum pages.

Latest News at the bottom of the Forum: The latest 5 articles of news is being pulled through from the News page and displayed at the bottom of the Forum sections.

Promote you and the sport

The site is here to help promote Motorsport. It is easy to use and best of all it is FREE. So please use it to your advantage, especially when the current economic climate is not making things easy for competitors to compete and car clubs to run events.

As a competitor, help promote yourself, your team and your sponsors by uploading your media releases in the News section.

As a car club or event promoter, help yourself to attract more competitors to your events by uploading Event details and creating regular News items. OnlineMotorsport can be used as an entry portal to notify people of upcoming events, but still allow users to link to the relevant car club or promoters site.

The site is steadily growing every month, (doubling in size since the revamp) and with these new changes we expect the site to continue to grow. As stated above, the economic climate is not the best, so Motorsport oriented companys should look at using this website as another mechanism to generate sales.

The advertising rates are cheap, and the target market is already captured, and growing. The site is not cheap to maintain and will only stay FREE for users to use, if the advertising can pay the costs.
