TAURANGA CLUBMAN’S NOVICE RALLY
GAINS MAJOR SPONSOR MotorSport Bay of Plenty Inc is delighted to announce the assistance of Pub Charity for the 2010 event. “We are pleased to report that Pub Charity has granted our application for funding for the most important safety items for any rally - the communications network and the first aid coverage” says David Loughlin, Rally Chairman. In these tight economic times, both for competitors and organisers, the granting of this application has allowed the Rally Committee to continue with its policy of minimising entry fees to encourage novice and regional competitors. With the decision of our previous rally sponsor, Safeway Auto Auctions, to stand down this year, the budget was looking very tight. Pub Charity’s donation has allowed the Committee to breath a bit more freely on the financial front, and ensured the rally’s continuation into the future. Rally organisers are happy with the level of entries at this stage, with 37 competitors already entered. However more is always better and the Committee are hopeful that Central region competitors will take the opportunity of doing some gravel rally practice, as with the postponement of their first round in the Hawkes Bay, their first gravel event is not until Gisborne in August. Regulations and entry forms can be found on the Club’s website at www.mbop.co.nz or by contacting the Club as below. Normal entries close on 19 March 2010.
